OW16 IoT-Portal Multi-Sensor 1-Wire (DS18B20) App with Averaging
IoT-Portal Custom Application
OW16 IoT-Portal Multi-Sensor 1-Wire (DS18B20) App with Averaging
For the ZR5, ZX5 and LX5
Monitor multiple temperatures from one controller, view every probe on the IoT-Portal and create a selectable average temperature for a room, cabinet, store or process.
OW16 combines live readings, high and low limits, bulk configuration, historical charts and remote alerts in one straightforward application.

What the OW16 App Does
OW16 turns a compatible ZR5, ZX5 or LX5 into a multi-point temperature monitoring system. Up to 15 physical DS18B20 probes can share the 1-Wire connection, allowing temperatures to be monitored at different shelves, rooms, pipes, tanks, cabinets or parts of a machine.
Each sensor has its own live card and settings. The app also reserves the sixteenth channel for a calculated average made from the physical sensors you choose. This gives you both individual readings and a useful overall temperature without adding another probe.
Key Features
See the current temperature and status of every enabled probe on individual IoT-Portal cards.
Set operating limits and hysteresis so genuine temperature events can be identified without rapid alarm switching near a threshold.
Apply settings to all sensors, visible sensors or only the sensors you select.
Choose which physical sensors contribute to the average and display the result as its own temperature channel.
Review logged data by date, compare sensors on one chart and zoom in to inspect temperature changes.
Use the IoT-Portal's configured call, SMS and email actions for high or low temperature events.
Configure Several Sensors at Once
Large installations should not require the same setting to be entered repeatedly. The bulk panel lets you choose all sensors, visible sensors or a hand-picked group, then apply common low, high and hysteresis values.
Sensors can also be shown or hidden from the live screen, keeping the portal focused on the channels that matter to the user.

A More Useful Average Temperature
The average channel is not tied to every connected probe. Select only the sensors that represent the area you want to monitorāfor example, several shelves in one cold roomāwhile excluding probes in doorways, return-air paths or unrelated zones.
Select sensors individually, select all, or clear the selection and build a new group.
The controller calculates the combined value as virtual sensor 16.
Show the average on its own live card and use it with high and low monitoring.
Compare Sensors Over Time
The history chart brings the sensor traces together so temperature differences and common trends are easy to see. Choose custom dates or use the 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day shortcuts. Zoom the chart for detail and click legend entries to show or hide individual sensors.

Watch how sensors are selected one by one, added to the averaging group and monitored from the live IoT-Portal screen.
How It Works
Install compatible DS18B20 probes on the 1-Wire bus.
Let OW16 discover the probes, then identify and name each sensor.
Set temperature limits, visibility and the sensors included in the average.
View live values, receive configured alerts and review historical trends.
Suitable Applications
Compare shelves, doors, return air and product areas.
Monitor hot spots and the average temperature across racks.
Track flow, return, room and equipment temperatures.
Compare growing zones and monitor an overall average.
Monitor several locations within one building or store.
Watch pipes, tanks, enclosures and machinery from one portal.
Compatibility & Installation
OW16 is designed for compatible ZR5, ZX5 and LX5 controllers running the required application firmware. It uses DS18B20-family digital temperature probes and suitable 1-Wire cabling and installation practices.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. It supports up to 15 physical DS18B20 probes, with the sixteenth channel reserved for the calculated average.
Yes. Sensors can be selected individually, so unrelated locations do not distort the average.
Yes. Sensors can be configured separately, while the bulk controls make shared settings faster to apply.
Yes. Logged readings can be displayed on the multi-sensor history chart over a selected date range.
