Server Room Temperature Monitoring by email and SMS

Advanced Server Room Temperature Monitoring

Two powerful monitoring apps for customers who need clearer, more useful temperature alerts in server rooms, comms rooms, IT cabinets and equipment rooms.

Smarter alerts for critical temperature monitoring

Standard temperature monitoring usually gives you one high alarm and one low alarm. That is useful, but server rooms often need more detail. A small rise in temperature may only need checking, while a higher temperature could mean urgent action is required to protect servers, network equipment or other critical electronics.

Our new temperature monitoring apps for the ZR5 Internet of Anything system gives customers better visibility, better alert messages and more flexible alarm handling.

Average Temperature Monitoring App

This app combines multiple temperature sensors into one calculated average temperature reading.

It is useful where a server room has several sensors in different positions, such as near the air conditioning unit, near the server rack, by the door, or in a warmer corner of the room.

Instead of relying on one sensor, the system calculates an average temperature and generates alerts from that combined reading.

Customer benefits

  • Monitors the overall server room temperature using several sensors.
  • Reduces false alarms caused by one local hot or cold spot.
  • Provides a single average temperature alarm point.
  • Useful for general server room overheating protection.
  • Sends alerts by SMS, call or email when the average temperature goes above or below the chosen limits.
🚨

Multi-Level Temperature Alarm App

This app allows each server room temperature sensor to have several alarm levels instead of just one high and one low limit.

For example, a customer can set a warning level, a serious alarm level and a critical alarm level. Each level can have its own message, so the alert tells the customer how serious the situation is.

This is ideal for server rooms because it allows early warning before the temperature becomes critical.

Customer benefits

  • Up to four alarm levels per temperature sensor.
  • Different alert messages for different severity levels.
  • Allows early warning before the room becomes critically hot.
  • Helps customers prioritise urgent faults.
  • Suitable for server rooms, comms rooms, IT cabinets and plant rooms.
  • Alerts can escalate from warning to critical as the temperature rises.

Example server room setup

A customer has several temperature sensors installed around a server room. One sensor is near the air conditioning outlet, one is near the main server rack, and another is near the door.

The average monitoring app gives a balanced overall room temperature, while the multi-level alarm app provides staged alerts as the temperature rises.

Temperature Alert level Example message
24°C Early warning Server room warmer than normal.
26°C High temperature Check air conditioning.
28°C Serious alarm Urgent attention required.
30°C Critical alarm Risk to server equipment.

Which app is right for your site?

Choose Average Temperature Monitoring if...

You want a more reliable overall view of the room temperature using several sensors in different positions.

Choose Multi-Level Temperature Alarms if...

You want staged escalation, so alerts show whether a temperature problem is minor, serious or critical.

Protect your server room with smarter temperature alerts

Our 4G/5G IoT monitoring systems can send SMS, call and email alerts when server room temperatures move outside safe limits.
